On Digital Business Cards

I see people asking about digital business cards from time to time. (e.g., HiHello, Popl, OVOU, etc.)

As I see it, the trouble with all of these digital business card options is they are trying to solve a simple problem with a complex and proprietary format. For better or worse, a small nicely-designed piece of paper is at least an open and well-established standard.
